AliExpress.com Reviews

AliExpress is a recently launched project (April 2010) by Alibaba - one of the world's leading E-Commerce companies.

AliExpress was launched as a platform for sellers in China to offer smaller quantity orders, instant online transactions and conveniently offers an Escrow service to protect both buyers and sellers.

While Alibaba focuses on larger quantity orders (most sellers registered on Alibaba offer manufacturing facilities for e.g OEM orders), the AliExpress project targets the needs of buyers / businesses that require smaller quantities that are available of immediate shipment.

The major talking point of AliExpress is the introduction of an Escrow service. Escrow payments protects both buyers and sellers of AliExpress by holding the Buyer's payment in a separate account to assure the Seller that the funds have been received. The Seller then has to make the necessary arrangements to ship the purchase to the Buyer, provide proof of shipment, await the Buyer's acknowledgement of receipt before the funds are paid to the Seller.

Many of the current suppliers / sellers on Alibaba have since registered accounts on AliExpress as well. THAT being said, that's probably why the 2 other reviews here on SiteJabber have already hinted that AliExpress is a fraudulent website.
